Black Stars’ skipper Asamoah Gyan has reportedly turned down offers to return to the English premier league due to high taxes.

The 31-year-old left Sunderland in 2011 to join United Arab Emirates side Al Ain before moving to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.

He has reportedly received offers from several English clubs including Southampton and Stoke City.

However, reports circulating in the English media suggest that the Black Stars captain has rejected the chance to play in the Premier League once again due to high taxes.

Gyan scored ten (10) Premier League goals for Sunderland in the 2010/11 season.

He spent last season on loan at UAE giants Al Ahli from Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG and is yet to secure a move following the expiration of his deal.
