Floyd Mayweather confirms Ghana visit

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Undefeated world boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr., has confirmed he will visit Ghana on 15 and 16 June.

It has been rumoured the leader of the Money Team would be in Africa but there was no official statement until now.

Mayweather announced his visit to Ghana in a short video.

“What’s up, it's your man Floyd Money Mayweather. Africa, Ghana, you have Floyd Mayweather and the Money Team, June 15 and June 16. The Motherland,” he said in the video. Mayweather’s mission in Ghana is, however, unknown.

Details regarding his visit are unknown but Ghanaians are expected to get a taste of how he flaunts his riches in public either by showing off his private jet, expensive cars, gold watches or simply holding huge sums of cash around.

Mayweather is widely considered to be one of the greatest boxers of all time. He is a five-division world champion who has won 15 world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes (twice at welterweight).

As an amateur, he won a bronze medal in the featherweight division at the 1996 Olympics. Mayweather is a two-time winner of The Ring magazine's Fighter of the Year award (1998 and 2007), a three-time winner of the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Fighter of the Year award (2007, 2013, and 2015), and a six-time winner of the Best Fighter ESPY Award (2007–2010, 2012–2014).

In 2016, Mayweather was ranked by ESPN as the greatest boxer, pound-for-pound, of the last 25 years.
