Chinese Company raises concern about threats

Kumasi, Nov. 04, GNA - Geo Engineering Corporation, A Chinese Construction Company, reconstructing the Kejetia-Abuakwa stretch of the Kumasi-Sunyani Highway, have expressed concern about an anonymous letter, threatening the management of the Company.

The local Union, which was purported to have sent the letter, has denied any knowledge of it.

A press release signed by Mr Zhao Yexuan, Executive Project Manager in Kumasi said what they found amazing was that concerns and grievances raised by the workers at a meeting held barely a week ago had all been dealt with. It said the executive of the Union has also officially dissociated itself from the said letter.

According to Mr Zhao, this was confirmed through correspondence with the Union's Secretary, Mr Rudolf Asoalla. It said the Company saw no basis for the threats.
