Thank you great Chief of Dagbon but that is not what we in NPP are wishing for. We don't need any power sharing. Let Mahama form his government with his NDC Party if the Supreme Court decides he won the election faily because we don't want power sharing government or inclusive government that might lead to Dictatorship.
President Mahama and his NDC Part presented their manifesto to the electorates and NPP did the same so if the voters chose the NDC and Mahama, let them form the government to implement its manifesto. We in NPP don't want any part of this administration, Thank you great Regent Abdulai.

The Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Naa Andani Yakubu Abdulai has backed calls for Ghana to move from the winner takes all system of government.
“We pray that the incoming President will embrace his political opponents so that together we can build the better Ghana that we all yearning for.”
He further emphasized that the winner takes all style of leadership has not helped the nation that much.
_______
A very judicious and insightful observation. All the Prez has to do is expedite the implementation of real decentralization process or devolution of power to the doorsteps of the citizenry, whilst unleashing responsibility/accountability and the Right To Information Act.
We all could use the mid-term litmus test elections at the local governance or District Assemblies levels to perfect the glitches in our electoral process, and gain more practice before the real general polls every four years.
It's only logical for our politicians to rise through the ranks from local, regional, before national stage or ministerial post.
The gov't should implement the recommendations of the constitutional review committee and cap the number of Supreme Court Judges, as well as number of MPs to Parliament.
Is having politicians who shuffles between two post (Such as being MP and regional minister or cabinet minister) the most effective means or way to govern, whilst there is an enormous unemployed graduates association in Ghana now?

Nana Akufo-Addo possesses the qualities of Moise Tshombe, and for that matter, Yakubu Abdulai must thread carefully in his thinking. Besides, Mr John Mahama had displayed the willingness in recruiting some members of the Opposition Party in his Administration, and there's so much the President Mahama could do for Ghana. The attitude of throwing-in the uninvited ideas at this time is dangerous; the President needs his space.

Look, it is true that Dagombas assimilated other tribes but not mamprusis. Mamprusis are their senior brothers who bravely stopped at Nalerigu and asked their brothers the yoobas (present dagombas and nanumbas) to continue and eventually settle at Yendi and Bimbilla. Remember that their great grand father Naa Gbewaa died at Pusiga and the family moved on.
There is this misinformation among non-indigenous dagombas that mamprusis are similated! Who is propagating that wrong notion and the real dagombas are not telling them the truth! Please when the abudus and the andanis in around 1970 wanted a solution, they said they would turn to their elder brother the mamprusi naa-naa sheriga or was it naa bounwu. He said that look my younger brothers the abudu gate should be patient and allow the andani gate to take over. After his death then the Abudu gate will come. The abudu gate selfisly said the mamprusis naa was not right because they expected him to talk in their favor. The rest is as it is today. Again when the whiteman came to the north, all of the Dagombas(mamprusis and yoobas)ask him to settle at mamprugu (Gambaga near Nalerigu) because that is the place of their senior brother and he will be well protected. Gambaga was then the capital for the northern territories. I am not sure what is going on with the mamprusis that they are not going to the radios all over Tamale to address these significant issues. Ask any indigenous Mossi who are the distant cousins and they will tell you.

The Ghanaian people will have been simply angry, because they rejected the NDC simply by their vote! They didn't like the NDC in 2000 and 2008; they wanted the NPP. NPP had WON and they deserved to take it ALL. This time the Ghanaian people want the NDC. And the want the NDC to take it ALL. So what are you telling Mahama to do? To share his WIN with people that the Ghanaian people rejected? Why? Tell me, why? Is it because it is Mahama? Your argument is annoying, to say the least, if not stupid and greedy.

After accepting our present circumstances, no matter what they are, we must learn to bless them.
Right. Bless Misery?
Through your gritted teeth if necessary, Usually we don't know why something has occurred and we won't until there's enough distance to take a backward glance.
However, blessing whatever vexes us is to spiritual surrender that can change even troublesome situations for the better. Blessing the circumstances in our lives also teaches us to trust.

Whereas the regent is absolutely right in calling for peace Ghana's democracy is a bit too young and I believe it is premature to call for an all inclusive government at this stage. There is too much polarisation of opinions from the different political entities for an all inclusive government. Can you imagine a government minister from the opposition party taking orders from their party leader instead of the president? How loyal are they likely to be to the president? What if they decide to sabotage government programmes so the government appears to be failing in order to catapult themselves to power at the next elections? At this stage in our national development we need a government that works as a unified team, that believe in the same ideology and work together to facilitate accelerated development. Can we genuinely expect any government appointees from the opposition to work with the government after the just ended, bitterly contested elections? I doubt it. At this stage all we can ask for is people to put their differences behind them and join the national debate to move our country forward. However I think it is premature to call for an all inclusive government. Ghana has not reached that stage yet and we all know the consequences if a child tries to run before they can even crawl. I must congratulate the regent for holding Dagbong together as one people and I hope our national leaders can emulate his example. God bless Ghana!

Please much as I agree Africans will never learn to compromise. White people do that is why they move ahead and win always. With the white people their philosophy is their race firstand their country second and their families third.
We Africans is I me myself my family and my tribe. Whatever happens to the other tribe is their making. My brothers we have a problem. The problem is so serious that even the elite ones cannot overcome it.
Nana lost the elections. This is the point . Full stop. People did not choose him. He did not get 100% in his tribal areas. NDC still got the votes. People may like NPP party but they do not like the flag bearer. He has tried twice and failed.
It is the responsibility of NPP to choose a new leader and new leadership for the party. NPP is an organization and therefore the leadership has to be dynamic.

Then we should move away from the present western political system and evolve one which takes into consideration the diverse nature of our society.Because of tribalism the western system of government being foisted on africans is ripping african nations apart.Acheampong proposed the Union Government concept which was worth considering but was rebuffed by politicians and the educated class who accused him of trying to use it to entrench himself in power. The present western-style democracy favours only the few rich and powerful who use it to protect their interest at the expense of the weak, poor majority. If the winner-take-all system is good for Africa why is it that our colonial masters did not practise it in Africa? WAKE UP AFRICANS FOR BLIND 'COPY-CATTING' IS KILLING US!!.

Some Ghanaians have closed their eyes & minds to the obvious--there's no new govt yet--results of the elections are being contested and not until that's done disabuse your minds of 'new govt'.
As a young boy of 6 I personally saw Nkrumah 'boys' stuffed ballot boxes--didn't know back then the implications of all that--and our cynical attitude of turning our eyes to right wrongs & respect the rule of law is a deadly cancer eating into the very fabric of African societies--and the outcome--lack of socio-economic-political development--we seem to be morally & ethically bankrupt--no upright Ghanaians to man our institutions.
From the day-old Ghanaian to the oldest is a thief--from the laborer to the President is also a thief.
Ghanaians must thank Mr. Akufo Addo for mustering the courage to challenge the election results--stealing rigging must stop--and must be immediate--Ghanaians must learn to live ethical lives--and the good Lord will richly bless the land--its a law of Nature --no ifs & buts.

To prevent corruption, mismanagement, looting and above all to save state property from suffering from 'The Tragedy of the Commons'we need to have a fixed development plan to cover a period of over 20 years. The plan needs to be annexed to the constitution for safeguarding. All future governments must be bound to work according to the plan and the national budget be made to reflect its requirements. From this it would be easy to device a barometer to measure the efficiency of each government.I know this suggestion would be nonsense to our politicians because it would close to a reasonable extent the floodgate to looting.I have suggested this to many in the UK and they do appreciate it.I really see this as one measure to stop corruption.

The obvious flaw in our politics is the constitution. It was written by people with very old mentality.
If we ever fight then it will be the result of a bad constitution. fact is, Ghanaians vote along tribal lines. Once a party is found by a person, almost all his tribesmen march behind. Look at NDC, NPP and PNC.
Manifestoes, Corruption-like Woyome, all are little compared to the tribal pull. We can burrow under the sand and pretend that we are an issue-driven society.

Mr. Regent seem to be too late with his suggestion. This should have come in the very beginning and we all save the tax payers money by running an election. How can we separate into elections and re-combine later? Every party before they go into elections lines up all the people (or at least have an idea of people) they will need to run the government, so why combine? The countries that sold us this version of democracy know this route but how many use it? Even where the Regent sits at the moment cannot run an inclusive "government"!

I don't share in this fantogomeric of power sharing! Since when have we come to that and for what reason? Why should we be obliged to continue to pamper the UP-mate meho tradition? In preparing the1992 constitution they boycotted it for including "none entities" by their statndards. They went ahead by by boycotting the elctions. It has to take Sir Douglas Hurd, of the UK to tell them they made a mistake by boycotting the elctions for them to make a U-turn in the 1996 elections. Then they advocated for changes. They lost the elctions and went ahead to publish the stolen verdict. Then they won the 2000 elctions. when the elctions were to be held in 2004 they said the voters register was over bloated and they had to re -register the electorate. As if they were to do something better they sent us back to some substandard black and white photos for the voters. They did not wait for the results to be declared, it was Jake Obetsebi who assumed the Electoral commissioner. Nobody had anything to say because it was them. Thencame Kuffuor's second term. An election that NPP never won but they schemed it from ashanti region. Nobody said anything because the God fearing Prof congratulated them. Why would Nana Akuffo Addo think he has been ordained to rule Ghana? Please if all inclusive government was good then why did we refuse the UNION GOVERNMENT principle of Acheampong? Yes Kwame Pianim also said it one time but nobody listened to him. If we shall do that not with Akuffo-Addo. Nor the NPP.

NPP had WON and deserved to take it ALL. This time the Ghanaian people want the NDC. And they want the NDC to take it ALL. So what are you telling Mahama to do? To share his WIN with people that the Ghanaian people rejected? Why? Tell me, why? Is it because it is Mahama? Your argument is annoying, to say the least, if not greedy and stupid.

Does Nana the Regent of Dagbon consider dashing of vehicles to chiefs, cars to female students, lap tops, clothes, mini sacks of rice and sundry items to BUY VOTEs as advanced Democracy?? Are those activities towards the general election generate Free and Fair Election, does faud and manupulation of election figures amount to Democracy? What was nana Kampayuka's reaction when John adviced Northeners to vote in his favour(Mahama)as being a Northener and as such a BROTHER.i don't think John can call me a brother just b'cos he had been able to twist the hands of the opponent to retain the crown as head of state.Universal unification may have a long way to comeby WHILES John's pronouncements and actions keep ringing in our ears as people. All is not over yet so Nana should hold on and stick to Peace and Unification of Dagbon AREA.

An all inclusive government will lead to an indirect one party state. This will increase corruption in the country and the poor and ordinary majority will suffer most. We say a big no to an all inclusive government.

The poor but beautiful and intelligent KKB girl did give birth to the Long expected saviour of Dagbom and her brothers worked to clothe and feed her and the infant saviour. Now he is on the throne, the Prince of Peace, Wonder Counsellor with his uncles standing-by, ready to defend their nephew!
Let any so-called Prince of Dagbom dare elope a KKB girl again or demand forced labour and the idiot will see the colour of his inside.Who told you Yanla, is for Dagbombas?Ur power is over your wives not over KKBs.

THIS REGENT MUST BE LIVING ON MARS.
THE AVERSION TO, OR ABSENCE OF INCLUSIVE GOVERNMENT IN GHANA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GHANA'S BAD LEADERSHIP AND BACKWARDNESS.
THE MAIN CAUSE OF GHANA'S BACKWARDNESS IS LEADERSHIP NAKED CORRUPTION, LAZINESS, LACK OF VISION AND COMMONSENSE, LACK OF THE CHOICE OF PASSIONATE AND NATIONALISTIC "FORWARD LOOKING" PERSONS TO STEER GHANA OUT OF OUR THIRD-WORLD LEGACY AND MINDSET, AND LACK OF THE PASSION TO FORGE GHANA AHEAD.
MIND YOU ALL OF THESE ARE HAPPENING IN THE MIDST OF COUNTLESS NATURAL RESOURCES AT OUR DISPOSAL JUST WAITING ON FORWARD PLANNING LEADERSHIP TO USE THEIR BRAINS TO EXPLOIT TO THE MAX.

It is becoming increasingly self-evident that are chiefs are far wiser and more patriotic than our conceited politicians and their bone-headed, bootlicking apparatchiks.
The call for an all inclusive system of leadership by the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa does make sense, and should be seriously considered by all patriotic and peace-loving Ghanaians.
In times of great peril, sagacious men of courage, put party politics aside and rally to save their nations, The Conservative and the Labour Parties did it to rebuild UK reeling from the onslaught of the Nazi Blitzkrieg, and the Labour and the Likud Parties in Israel joined
forces to surmount the ravages emanating from the Arab-Israeli rivalry.
We are also in dire straits - not from artillery and aircrafts, but from underdevelopment, illiteracy, unbridled corruption, ethnotribal crisis, tropical diseases, unsanitary conditions, and environmental degradation.
We need an all-hands on deck approach to successfully overcome these problems.
The call should go out to all Ghanaians, wherever they are, to be part of this all-inclusive leadership the Kampakuya Naa is talking about.
Here are my picks:
Rawlings for Defence
Kofi Annan for Foreign affairs
Akufu-Addo for Education
Dr. Nduom for Economics
Nana Osagyefo Ofori Panin for Environment Management
Tsatsu-Tsikata for Justice & Attorney-General
George Ayittey for Oil & Investment
Abu Sakara for Agriculture
Dr. Frimpong for Health
Bawumia for Governor of Bank of Ghana.
Nana Otuo Serebuor for Culture & Chieftaincy Affairs
Joyce Aryee for Family Synergy & Empowerment
Dr. Naadu Mills for Tourism

An all inclusive government will lead to an indirect one party state. This will increase corruption in the country and the poor and ordinary majority will suffer most. We say a big no to an all inclusive government.
