Tsatsu could be imprisoned – Kofi Wayo

Charles Kofi Wayo, also referred to as Chuck, has described lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata’s comments about Justice Aning-Yeboah as unfortunate.

He has also blamed Parliament for failing to make laws that adequately protect judges.

In an interview with The Independent, Chuck stated that judges were sacred persons and as such caution must be taken when addressing them.

Mr. Wayo explained that though Mr. Tsikata was entitled to his opinion in a democratic dispensation, his comments must not indict a judge.

Though he would not describe Mr. Tsikata’s comments as contemptuous, he explained that if Mr. Tsikata’s comments abused Justice Anin Yeboah in any way, he could be imprisoned.

Chuck further stressed that if he were the judge, he would take Mr. Tsikata on to prove his allegations of being bias.

He said though justices were not to speak independently on issues, this was a comment that affected his personality.

He, therefore, suggested to Justice Anin Yeboah to take Mr. Tsikata on to prove his allegations if he felt indicted.
