Ghana should remain vigilant on Ebola' Veep

With all suspected cases of the Ebola Virus Disease in Ghana haven proved negative, but are still being monitored, theres is the nedd to ensure that nothing is left to chance, His Excellency Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur, has disclosed.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, made the remark when he joined Muslims in the country to celebrate this years Eid - ul Fitr festival at the Independence square in Accra. Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has urged Ghanaians and religious organizations to encourage their members to be vigilant on the issue of the Deadly Ebola virus.

He said We are also anxious about events taking place outside our country and must protect ourselves from falling victims to the out break of Ebola virus as it has happened some residents in some Ecowas countries . Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, said we have a duty to learn about it , he also advised that it will also be desirable if we could changes some of our social and hygienic conditions in order to reduce the chance of contracting the disease.

Mr Kwesi Amissah Arthur ,said the Ebola symptoms includes fever, sore throats, joint muscle and dry – hacking cough , so the need to be vigilant and encourage any one with any of these symptoms to go to the nearest health facility for assistance . He said our various health experts and institutions have introduced measures to contain the situation if there’s an outbreak.

In the area of security, Vice President, Kwesi Amissah Arthur, said there are concerns in our sub region, so the need for us to continue to pray for those in northern Nigeria and the countries that border them ,who are enduring abduction and other threats by the Boko Haram group, adding that we particularly have to remember the family of the abducted school girls in Chibok abducted from school over there months ago and still enduring captivity. He called on the youth not allow themselves to be influenced by any of individual or group that want to destabilize the country. As Ghana celebrates Eid - ul Fitr. He took the opportunity to state that the Hajj committee is working with government to make this years Hajj better organized than ever ,he said last year Hajj was better organized and with the arrangements and the efforts being put in , this years hajj would be better so he urged to cooperate fully to make it successful .

On behalf of President John Dramni Mahama and the government and people of Ghana, The Vice President ,said with the declaration of the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah, thanked them for a successfully concluding this years Ramadan.
