Berekum Chelsea defender Akakpo aims high in Ghana League.

Berekum Chelsea defender Wilson Akakpo wants to make a huge impact in the Ghana Glo Premier League. The former Hot Steel FC player signed for the 2011 champions before the start of the 2012/2013 season after an impressive run in the National Division One League which earn him the nickname “The Last Barrier” by fans for his impressive ability to stop opposing strikers from operating in the heart of his team’s defense. The 18 year old made his debut for Berekum Chelsea in their MTN FA cup win against Unity FC a Division One side in Ho and made his premier league debut against Ashgold. He continued to make 7(seven) appearances for his club and was adjudged man of the match on 5(five) occasions thus 2(two) in the MTN FA cup and 3(three) in the premier league. His courageous antics for Berekum Chelsea caught the eyes of the technical handlers of the Local Black Stars team as he made the provisional squad for camping ahead of their tie against Benin and is relishing on making an impressive impact in the Ghana Glo Premier League. “Am very delighted to be playing for Berekum Chelsea, because this is a club I long dreamt to play and showcase to the world what am capable of doing on the field of play. I know is not easy to play for a team of such magnitude but with hard work, determination and injury free career, I will do my best to command a starting role in this noble club and make an impact in league.
