We are struggling to raise a team for Saturday – Bechem United

The Chairman of Division One outfit Bechem United, Kingsley Osei Bonsu says his side needs help ahead of their outstanding Zone 1B fixture against B.A. United in Sunyani on Saturday.

He told footy-ghana.com that after his players were assaulted during the match against Bofoakwa in Sunyani on Sunday, he has seven players receiving medical treatment, adding a letter has been sent to the Ghana Football Association asking for the game to be postponed to Wednesday May 1.

"My players were physically assaulted leaving about seven first team players injured and we have sent a letter to the GFA to postpone our match to Wednesday. We have a doctor’s reports to substantiate our claims. The doctor gave the players one week rest for them to be able to recover from the psychological trauma suffered last Sunday," he said.

Osei Bonsu, popularly known as ‘Zico’, also told footy-ghana.com that Bechem United defender Richard Baffour Gyan, who kicked referee Richard Dziany in the groin on Sunday, has been fined and suspended indefinitely.

“The management of Bechem United has suspended Richard indefinitely and fined him GH¢ 500 and we want to state on record that we won't support such recalcitrant behaviour in our team," he added.

Footy-ghana.com understands that should Osei Bonsu’s requested, the outstanding game cannot be played on May 1 because there is a full Division One League programme taking place on that day in question.
