Royal Faith FC aims high in Volta second division

Royal Faith FC are targeting a successful stint in their maiden participation in the Volta Regional Second Division League which kicks off at the weekend.

The Dzodze-based club, housed in Zone D of the Southern Sector ‘B’ are looking forward to their opening match of the campaign against Volta Sea FC on Sunday, May 12 at the Dzodze Park.

Felix Bedi, President of the club, told GNA sports they are ready for the season backed by an impressive pre-season.

He said the team showed so much promise in the final test match against Ho-based Golden Stars last Sunday which ended barren.

Prior to that, the pride of Dzodze as they are affectionately called, had accounted for Penyi FC, beating them by a lone goal in a similar exercise.

On his part, Patrick Doamekpor, Vice President, remarked they had targeted qualification to the Sub-Middle League, meaning they must finish top of the Zone which has Future Stars of Wudoaba and Paquah FC of Hevi.

He said they are counting on the technical abilities of head coach, Nigeria-born Sunday Ojo coupled with the quality of players at their disposal to do the trick.

Meanwhile, Future Stars will battle it out with Paquah FC in the other Zone D match on Saturday, May 11 at the Wudoaba School Park.
