Ray Quarcoo given ultimatum

The United Boxing Coaches Association of Ghana has called for the dissolution of the Executive Board of the Ghana Amature Boxing Federation (GABF) led by Ambassador Mr. Ray Quarcoo.

At a meeting held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, the coaches led by President Djanie Kotey aka "Alloway", Rasheed Williams aka Believer and Napoleon Tagoe said they want to save their constitution hence the need to hold congress to elect new executives for the GABA. by April 15, 2014. >Kotey said Ray Quarcoo had not organised a congress in his four years stay in office and amatuer boxing is becoming worse with no medals coming from international events. >He noted that if their call is not responded, they will advise themselves by withdrawing their boxers selected for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

Theo Addo, one of the spokesmen of the United Boxing Coaches said their target is not the Commonwealth Games, but they want to save their constitution and want the right things to be done to save the foundation of boxing in Ghana.

Rashid Williams said the Quarcoo led executive had no mandate to be in office as their term has expired and there was the need to have a new board.

>Napoleon Tagoe noted that the four year term has come to an end so elections must be held and those who are interested can go for nomination forms.
