2014 National Pool Tournament launched in Accra

The 2014 National Pool Tournament has been launched at the Vienna City in Accra with a call by Nana Kwesi Agyeman, a Sports Journalist on the Sports Minister to support the lesser known sports by ensuring that the Sports Bill is passed.
Nudzo Agbanu of Afrodigital Promotions, the director of the National Pool Tournament which is sponsored by Hunter’s Beer said this year’s event would be an improvement over 2013 as the registration is by buying only two bottles of Hunter’s to participate and win a handsome cash price of 5,000ghc in addition to souvenirs of the sponsors.
He noted that only persons who are above 18 years would be registered to play in the event which starts on Friday August 1, 2014 at the Vienna City and the finals comes off at the Accra Sports Stadium after the tournament has been held in 64 host centers throughout the country.
He stressed that last year’s programme was very successful and hoped the 2014 edition would be an improvement as more people have found the game very interesting and want to win the mouthwatering price at stake.
Agbanu edged the media to promote Pool so that Ghanaians would take it to the international level.
Burton Swain, Country Manager of Distell Ghana, main marketers and distributers who represented Hunter’s said sports is unifier and brings people together, so people who love sports should be associated with their brand as they are in to support lesser known sporting disciplines and improve the image and level of the sport in Ghana.
He hinted that sports can change the world to be a better place to live and prayed that the event would attract massive media coverage and support from the sports authorities.
