Thanksgiving Service for new Omanhene Submitted on 2009-08-04 13:44:41 (modified 2009-08-04 14:02:05) ![]() The new Omanhene, 2nd from right with his wife. The local Council of churches in Breman Asikuma organised the Installation Thanksgiving Service for the new Omanhene of Breman Asikuma, Nana Amoakwa Buadu VIII on Sunday, 19 Jul 2009 at the Roman Catholic Church. The service brought together church elders and congregation of all churches in the town as well as stakeholders such as Nananom, District Assembly, Heads of Departments etc. The first signs of a beautiful ceremony were manifested when choristers from Methodist, Roman Catholic and Presby Churches lead the Omanhene, Nananom and Family members from the Chief's Palace to the Roman Catholic Church, a distance of about 250 meters. The congregation was alight with joy in appreciation of what the Lord has done particularly for a peaceful and successful installation. Delivering the Sermon, Rev. Ernest Amoh-Aboagye implored citizens of Bremanman to support the new Omanhene to bring development to the Area. He also asked the new Omanhene to be humble and to allow God to be in the centre of all his activities. In his address, Nana Amoakwa Buadu VIII thanked God and the people whom God used to ensure a peaceful installation particularly Nananom, members of the Clergy, the DCE and MP, family members and Omanfo in general. He asked the congregation to remember him and those in authority in prayers in line with Apostle Paul's message in 1 Tim 2:1-2. (I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness). When given the opportunity to speak, the District Chief Executive Mrs Georgina Nkrumah-Aboah thanked the people of Asikuma for a Peaceful installation and pledged her full support for the Omanhene. The Thanksgiving Service was indeed a good expression of thanking the Lord for what he had done. The Service was followed by a reception at the Omanhene's Palace.
