Male relative beats old lady to death

A 70-year- old woman has been beaten to death by his great grandson, Patrick Nuomah at Ndun-suazo, accusing her of being a witch.

The great grandson, a driver who is on the run, claimed that the woman was a witch and she was the cause of the woes of the family.

The Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police John Ferguson Dzineku, confirmed the incident to the GNA at Half-Assini and said the body had been deposited at Half-Assini Goverment Hospital morgue after postmortem.

He said the deceased was first accused by Kwofie Yaba, a distant family member, who alleged that the woman was the brain behind the daughter’s stealing habit.

The District Commander said Yaba briefed Nuomah who got angry. He confronted the deceased in her house and beat her with a broom. She became unconscious and died on the way to the hospital.
