Chicago Community Calendar

After a tormenting winter season with temperatures dropping as low as -30° F in Chicagoland, the worse of its kind in 20 years, Spring is finally here and events in the Ghanaian community are already in session with the 2014 events calendar already heavily saturated.

The fun time begins this Saturday, March 22, 2014 with the 40th Birthday Celebration for Abena Asantewaa Agyeman-Bugyei (aka Adiepena) at St. Ailbe's Catholic Church, 9047 S. Harper Ave., Chicago, IL 60619 (9:00 PM - 3:00 AM).

Next event on the community calendar is the funeral rites for Paa Kwesi Sam's late father, JF Sam on March 29, 2014 at St. Ailbe's Catholic Church, 9047 S. Harper Ave., Chicago, IL 60619 (9:00 PM - 3:00 AM).

This is followed by the funeral rites for the late former Ga-Mantse, Nii Ebenezer Lante (aka Paa Lante) on April 5, 2014 at St. Ailbe's Catholic Church, 9047 S. Harper Ave., Chicago, IL 60619 (9:00 PM - 3:00 AM).

Also, Rev. Dzifanu Agbenya (Pastor Mensah) of Living Comfort Ministries will celebrate the life of his late father, Mr. Walk Agbenya Hlodze on April 12, 2014 at Bombay Hall, 2448 W. Devon Ave., Chicago, IL 60659 (8:00 PM onwards).

Why not come out and shake out the cold as we begin to celebrate a summer that has been preceded by one of the worst winters in the history books of Chicagoland.

Other events in the Ghanaian Community of Chicago will be posted as we receive them
