Alan calls for decorum in NPP

One of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flag bearer aspirants, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has called on his fellow contenders to advise their followers to be decorous in their campaigns in order not to give offensive weapons to the NDC to use against the party come 2016.

At a Press Soiree held in Sunyani as part of his four-day campaign tour to the Brong-Ahafo Region, Mr. Kyerematen noted that if the NPP wanted to wrestle power back from the NDC in 2016, then unity must be an essential ingredient.

He emphasized that candidates and their followers ought to conduct themselves in a more responsible manner, “As contenders we must promote a clean campaign as the party’s delegates’ congress draws near," he added.

Mr. Kyerematen, who has on two consecutive times lost to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the party’s presidential primaries, emphasized that the NPP was built on strong democratic principles where leadership allowed qualified members to vie for various positions within the party.

He, therefore, called on members and supporters of the NPP not to allow internal elections to divide the party, since that would affect the good fortunes of the party in the 2016 general elections.

Accompanied by his campaign Manager, Mr. Kofi Dzamesi and the Communication Director, Nana Ohene Ntow, Mr. Alan Kyerematen indicated that he would be the last person to destabilize the NPP in this crucial moment as he has contributed much in the NPP.

The flagbearer aspirant had earlier met the Regional Executives and Constituency Executives from Asutifi North and South, Asunafo North and South, and Tano North and South, Sunyani East and West.

He visited Dormaa East, West and Central in Dormaa Ahenkro, and met with constituency executives from Berekum East and West, Banda and Tain, as well as Jaman North and South on Wednesday.

Mr. Kyerematen would meet with Kintampo North and South, Nkoranza North and South, Techiman North and South and Wenchi on Thursday and wrap up the regional campaign tour on Friday with constituencies such as Sene East and West, Atebubu/Amantin, Pru East and West.
