FAKS Investigative Services release Survey on the Performances of Ministers and Parliamentarians for 2013

The 2013 survey conducted by FAKS Investigative Services, an investigative and research company in Ghana to recognize some exceptional work done by some Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers and Members of Parliament in Ghana has ended.

The survey, which is the second edition, started in September 2013 and ended in the second week of December, 2013. This survey recognized the performances of Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers and Members of Parliament (MPMs) for the year 2013.
The survey was conducted across the country with focus on Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Ho, Tamale, Koforidua, Wa, Bolga, Sunyani, Cape Coast and Takoradi.
The objective of this survey was to recognize the tremendous contributions that some Members of Parliament MPs and Ministers have made towards the development of the country in Ghana in the year 2013.

However, there are some of them who stand tall among their colleagues. These personalities have done well in exercising their duties, according to the public.

The field investigators sought the opinion of Ghanaians which of these MPMs performed well and also deserve to be recognized for 2013, constituting 75%. However, the project team also took into consideration of various projects executed by these MPMs, especially the Ministers, which also constituted only 25%.
The team took into consideration, and reviews various Ministries projects made available to the public at the Meet-The-Press series organized by the Ministry of Information and Media Relations. The team monitored every single Meet-The-Press that took place in 2013.


Method of the survey

FAKS Investigative Services went to the streets of Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Ho, Tamale, Koforidua, Wa, Bolga, Sunyani, Cape Coast and Takoradi, which public opinion were sought, apart from the various Ministries project executed.

Samples were taken from over 3,329 Ghanaians; representing 83% out of the 4,000 Ghanaians targeted to be interviewed. Per the results, the winners scored averagely between 97% (Excellence). 1st runners-up scored between 75% (Very Good) while the 2nd runners-up scored between 68% (Good). Below 60% is Partial.





However, the Members of Parliament (MPs) survey was conducted in Parliament with mostly responses coming from some of the MPs themselves, Majority and Minority Secretariats, Journalists, and workers in Parliament.

This year we add to the categories the Most Respected Minister for 2013 and the Most Popular Minister for 2013.

About 63% of those interviewed by the team agreed with the President’s decision to move Ministers from one region to another.

Nearly 43% of those interviewed by the field investigators have not heard any Deputy Minister’s name. About 36% of them have heard some of the names of Deputy Ministers, but do not know their positions. The remaining 21% of them knows the names of Ghana’s Deputy Ministers and their positions as well.
