Kwadwo Mpiani draws first blood...

NPP PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES: Kwadwo Mpiani draws first blood...

The war drums are beating louder than ever in the NPP and the battle lines are being drawn. Members are at each other’s throat with drawn dagger waiting to stab or slash. And Let no one panic because we all saw the signs of the real intentions and evil plots of some of these newly elected national officers and their sponsors long before they were finally elected. For some of us who are aware of the wicked plots that have been hatched and waiting to be executed just to ensure that the people's choice for the party's flag bearer has his reputation and chances completely destroyed, events unfolding are only a matter of course.

They came to us preaching the need for party unity, power, I am for Nana Akufo-Addo becoming President so my business will grow, strengthening party structures, i can unite this party better than all having worked with the three big names we have, when they all wanted our votes. Sadly some of us were beguiled by their sweet cunning words and failed to see beyond the charade. But now they have power, these leaders in whom we voted our trust to lead the party have turned against us who voted for them striving for leadership.

All I see in their eyes is pure hatred and treacheries.Their actions speak war whiles preaching peace. Like the Psalmist puts it in 5:9 ' they cannot speak a truthful word. Their deepest desire is to destroy the 'Peoples choice', Their talk is foul, like the stench from a sepulchre. Their tongues are filled with flattery'. They will fall on their on swords!

They thought that frustrating his chances and conniving with our political opponents to deny him the presidency in 2008, 2012 and the election petition was going to mark his end in active politics paving the way for them to have their sway. But as God will have it, their evil plots have rather endeared him much more to even them that were initially skeptical about him. He is no more seen as just another politician but a statesman !!

Realizing that this force of a man is growing stronger by the day with the people, they are now resorting to abusing the process and system through any means but even that too won't work. Whom Jah bless, let no man curse. When some of us started pointing out the persons behind the plots, a few others thought we were just talking.

As time will have it, Kwadwo Mpiani and his team of loyalist are now making real their threats to ruin the chances of the majority if he does not have his way. At the last National Council meeting, Kwadwo dared the gathering that if the views and choice of his minority group are not carried along by the majority, they will make sure their powers albeit limited are felt in a way that will spell disaster for all. And you may ask what exactly he and his few friends want?

Sir, be rest assured that you cannot stand in the way of the tide and expect to come out tops. You will be swept away by the current. Who does not know all that you are doing behind the scenes to frustrate the people's choice? If the party folks will pretend not knowing what's going on, some of us won't. You may have succeeded in triggering a super delegates election by sponsoring several candidates after all you even wanted the filing fees pegged at GHC10,000 because times are hard as you claimed but you and i know your true motive for that push. You will certainly get yourself burnt by this sponsored court action and Injunction of yours against our party.

Kwadwo Mpiani senses that he needs to have absolute control over the composition of NC members to have them rubber stamp his desires at the top since he is dead scared of the powers down there, but as it stands now he falls woefully short of that. He has been pushing this idea of reconstituting the same NC that elected the current executives including his sponsored candidates Afoko and Kwabena. That is why Afoko has been stalling when it came to fixing a date for the primaries. Left to them alone they would have preferred December next year for the primaries but sensing the height of opposition to that thought, they feel they can stretch it using the guise of constitutionality by saying they want to reconstitute the NC. At several instances Afoko described the NC members meeting as NEC because as far as he is concerned, the party has no NC. You ask yourself which NC members elected him? Were they properly constituted and suddenly became improperly constituted shortly after they voted for him?

Kwadwo Mpiani and Afoko are on record to have been calling all regional chairmen asking them to drop their appointed NC members and appoint persons being suggested by the two of them. Brother Mpiani would insist to them that it is important the national chairman had absolute control of the party which was indirectly himself. He will bear me witness the response he got from the chairmen that they also needed to have absolute control over their regions. So is it any surprising that a day before the famous 19th June NC meeting, we hear of a court injunction on the entire process?

Any keen observer should not be surprised because these steps to ensure they have their way was inevitable and only a matter of time. After all what do they stand to lose? Their preferred candidate cannot beat the people's choice in any contest today or tomorrow. They also feel that once NDC has had 8 yrs, any candidate at all from the NPP will necessarily win the 2016 election. And so to achieve that, they have to break the legs and possibly kill whatever is left of their main threat. But they lie bad. They should ask themselves why all the NDC is behind their choice to represent NPP in 2016 election if the thought that any candidate at all from the NPP will logically beat NDC is mutually shared by both parties.

Brother Kwadwo Mpiani, you are far too wise to be trying to play 'God' in NPP matters. You are not 'God' and you can never be. You know that I know. And I know that

You know that you and your team have never liked the candidacy of the people's choice. I dare say you have always voted against him in the two previous elections and of course against him winning the election petition case but you always come to him with a kiss like Judas and he always welcomes you with open arms. Mind you, the next generation of leaders all around us today are watching with interest observing all that you are doing. We may not be around tomorrow but the seed you sow today will surely bear fruits of its kind subsequently and the cycle of hatred will continue. You want us all to think stupid. You want us to feel stupid. We shall see
