Women's World Banking maiden Golf scheduled for Oct. 31

Tema, Oct. 27, GNA - The October month's Celebrity Golf Club Medal Open Championship tees off at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, October 31. Mr Oswald Amuzu, Competition Secretary of the Celebrity Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Tuesday said the one-day 18 Hole event would be sponsored by the Women's World Banking for the first time in the history of the competition.

He said about 100 amateur golfers from the Greater Accra Region are expected to participate in the competition.

Mr Amuzu said the competition would be played in accordance with the local rules of the Ghana Golf Association adding that golfers with Handicap 18 and 24 were eligible to participate.

Kobina Quansah, Kwasi Opoku, Joe Ampofo, Joe Ohemeng, Abdul-Aziz Amankwa and Ernest Opoku, all of the Club are expected to participate in the event.

Other golfers expected to compete for the magnificent trophy would include Mike Aggrey, Dan Dennis, Matthias Dorfe, Charles Tabi and Mike Ben-George, all of the Achimota Golf Club. Five prizes would be given in the Men's event while three would be awarded in the Ladies segment. Officials of the Bank are expected to grace the occasion. 27 Oct. 09
