Okrah: Feels great to be Ghana goal king

Bechem United striker Augustine Okrah is hailing his Creator and team-mates for helping him win his first major silverware after grabbing the title for the goal scorers’ race with 16 goals.

His strikes helped Bechem to finish fifth on the First Capital Plus Premier League’s log.

“I'm with much joy to win the goal king race, many people never believed in me but God and my team-mates did, and it has paid off. Scoring 13 goals in 13 second round games [16 in total] underlines the support I enjoyed,” Okrah told Goal Ghana.

“Everyone in the team rallied behind me to achieve this feat and I will like to extend my profound gratitude to all of them [Bechem United]. We were able to finish fifth on the log and that's also another remarkable feat because we were just promoted from the second-tier.”

The newly-crowned goal king insists he will not be swollen headed after winning the accolade, adding that there are a lot of greater heights to be achieved.

He noted: “The real test awaits me and I'm assuring my fans that I'm not going to be proud and stop training hard, I will do my maximum best to chalk more success in the future.

“I don't know whether I will be in the country or travel outside, it all depends on my manager and Bechem United.”

Okrah scored 16 goals to win the Ghana top-flight goal king prize.
