Ayikoi Otoo no longer Chairman of NPP’s Constitutional C’tee

Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Joseph Ayikoi Otoo has missed out on an attempt to be reappointed as Chairman of the Constitutional Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Otoo’s position is likely to be occupied by Former Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Professor Mike Oquaye.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, July 21, the 2012 aspiring Member of Parliament for Krowor Constituency said though the National Steering Committee of NPP nominated him to serve for another four-year term, “Ayorkor Botchway, Stanley Agyiri Blankson and Otchery 2nd Vice Chairman of the Greater Accra Region opposed the nomination shouting they wanted Prof Mike Oquaye.

"I thank all those [who] supported me during my 4 year tenure of office and would have liked that I continued."

NPP recently reconstituted its five standing committees including the Constitutional Committee ahead of its Special Delegates’ Congress on August 31.
