Press statement from United Cadres’ Front of the NDC

We of the United Cadres’ Front of the NDC are of the conviction that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not a credible political party and Ghana’s politics will be indeed better without the Danquah-Busia tradition. They are mischievous, diabolical, anti-Ghana and a bunch of self-seekers who are only happy when they are in power to loot the nation.
We are in fact disturbed about the dangerous path the NPP would want Ghana’s politics to thread. When they are in power, their activities of lining their pockets with ill-gotten means and throwing cash into the system from questionable sources to debase the value of the cedi is too glare to neglect. Apart from that, certain policies and programmes that are unassailable in the event of their being out of power are lined up to the disadvantage of succeeding governments.
The NPP do not stop there when they are out of power but go on to lambast the government with persistent barrage of falsehood through their paid agents within the Press houses including some operatives of the state-owned media. Like the proverbial devil, they go up-stream to muddy the waters and come down-stream to ask who caused it. By their anti-state activities, the NPP are the problem and therefore enemies of progress in this country.
The United Cadres’ Front of the NDC will soon come out with an expose’ of the negative role of the NPP in making the country ungovernable when they are not in power; and on coming to power, how they hunt and haunt perceived opponents and go further to rake national resources into their personal gain and advantage.
The United Cadres’ Front of the NDC would like to do this for the sake of letting discerning minds know why Ghana, with all its resources, is always in the quagmire of poverty, misery and want.
We are also doing this to prompt the dangerous days ahead of the 2016 elections by such acts of rumour-mongering, statements that incite sentiments against government, propagation of blatant lies and going every length to destroy the very foundations of the democracy we all treasure to pursue.
As earlier stated, we will soon come out with a press encounter; for, we will not sit down to let a certain group of people who deserted Ghana in times of need for greener pastures abroad to destroy this country for us. We cannot afford to go back to the days of politics of vilification, rancor, name-calling and hatred that characterized the 1950s and 1960s; neither are we prepared to go back to the 1980s of hardships that were surmounted by the toil and sacrifice of some well-meaning patriots of our land.

Signed: EFANAM FELIX NYAKU
GENERAL SECRETARY, UCF of NDC (0242727105)
