DKM assists sunyani prison

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DKM Diamond Microfinance Limited, Mr. Delle K. Martin has presented a cheque of GHC 10,000.00 to the Sunyani prison to facilitate the maintenance of their septic tank emptier that has been out of service for about a year now.
Presenting the cheque, the CEO divulged that the support to the Sunyani prison forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR). According to Mr. Delle, time has come for all hands to be on deck to help improve conditions within the Sunyani Prison.
He pointed out that even though it is the prime responsibility of the central government to find a lasting antidote to the challenges facing the nation’s prisons, there is the need for corporate institutions to support either in kind/cash. “ The effort of the central government alone is not enough to overcome the numerous challenges militating against the operations of the Ghana Prisons Service, hence the need for corporate support, particularly banking and non-banking institutions”, he explained.
He opined that since prisons serve as avenue for character formation for inmates, society too should not feel reluctant to support them.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Commander, Ghana Prisons Service, Deputy Controller of prisons (DCP), Nahii Naah Alhassan who received the cheque on behalf of the Sunyani Prison commended DKM for the kind gesture and appealed to other financial institutions operating within Sunyani Municipality to emulate the thoughtful gesture.
