Atsu excluded from Chelsea pre-season squad

Ghana star Christian Atsu has been excluded from Chelsea’s squad for their two-week European training camp in Austria indicating that he is on the verge of leaving the Blues, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 22-year-old was not part of coach Jose Mourinho’s 26-man squad that arrived in the Austrian town of Velden on Monday afternoon to start their pre-season training in the country.

This shows that Atsu is not part of Mourinho’s plans for the start of the season, paving the way for several clubs interested in him to make their offers to Chelsea.

That is because Chelsea took all of their new signings Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis on the trip to Austria which shows they will be key for the club next season.

A big Premier League scramble is on for Chelsea winger Atsu who was impressive of Ghana at the 2014 World Cup after turning out well for Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.

The Ghana international star spent last season at Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem before taking part in the World Cup.

The 22-year old has now attracted the interest of various teams around Europe including the Blues, Celtic and Aston Villa.

West Ham United and Aston Villa are known to be interested in the left winger, with Hamburg and Espanyol also linked.
