Ghana’s best player Okrah to return to Bechem

Highly rated striker Augustine Okrah is set to return to Ghana after failing to impress Hacken’s head coach Peter Gerhardsson during his loan spell, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.

The talented forward who won the 2013-14 FCP Premier League's best player accolade and goal king diadem at Bechem United will return to the west African country in November.

The former Asante Kotoko player signed a short term contract in July after a wonderful campaign with the Hunters last season.

Goal understands that the Allsvenskan side are not willing to offer him any contract extension after playing only four minutes for the first team in the Swedish league.

“Augustine Okrah will be coming to Ghana after the league. He has failed to replicate the form that brought him to Sweden," a source close to the club revealed to Goal.

“He had four months to impress everyone but he couldn't and the club has told him they are not ready to extend his contract. His agents are ready to let him return to Ghana although he can get a different offer from some lower division clubs here in Sweden but they insist he should return home.”

He added: “It is really strange but the fact is that, Okrah doesn’t fight at all on the pitch. He is not the same person he was in Ghana.”

Okrah scored 16 goals last season to win the goal king diadem and Best Player's accolade.
