Honeymoon Stars FC to compliment GFA.

The Management of Honeymoon Stars FC, a division two league club, say its aims is to help unearth and develop hidden but talented players to augment the efforts of the Ghana Football Association in helping strengthen the future of Ghana football.
In view of this, pragmatic efforts are being made to ensure that its players are raised from the streets, natured and groomed to the highest football standard.
Founded and owned by the Kumasi branch Manager of Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited, Mr. Chadrawy Yousef Walid in April this year, the Kyirapatre-based team in Kumasi started with 20 armature players, winning most of the corperate invitational games in the garden city.
“We started as a company team with Latex Foam Rubber products Limited, winning major events such as, the Ashanti Olympic Games, the Luv FM Invitational tournament and the Boss FM Republic Day Invitational tournaments amongst others”, the Team Manager who doubles as the Deputy Chief Accountant at Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited, Mr. Vincent Akutsah revealed.
He added that, “after winning such games, we noticed the team was becoming stronger after every corporate game, to the extent that it was about bigger than a mere corperate team so Management decided to go professional with the club”
“The founder, an avid footballer lover then acquired division one side, Nana Adu Gyamfi FC and through the assistance of the Ashanti Regional Ghana Football Association, changed the name to Honeymoon Stars FC and since then the team has not looked back”. Mr. Akutsah pointed out.
The club then adopted an effective recruitment regimen under the coaching tutelage of former Asante Kotoko Head Coach and 1978 African Footballer of the Year, Golden Boy Abdul Razak.
Honeymoon Stars FC, since its inception seven months ago has played about 24 friendly matches including playing clubs like, Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Ashanti gold SC, New Edubiase United, Asokwa Deportivo and Asokwa Warriors amongst others.
Players are motivated by receiving winning bonuses, salaries, best players after every training session is given cash incentive, whiles registered players are given employment by Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited.
Its home jerseys are dominant blue with white stripes with away colours being dominant red with white stripes while All White over red hose with blue stripes is its neutral jersey.
The ambitious club which aims at qualifying to the premier league in the next 3 years is sponsored by Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited who are also sponsors of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Asokwa Deportivo and the Senior National team, the Black Stars.
