Gerald Ankrah confirmed as Hearts MD

Shareholders of Accra Hearts of Oak this afternoon confirmed the appointment of Gerald Ankrah as the Managing Director of the Club.

His appointment which took effect from the 1st of October 2014 needed the collective approval of the shareholders after the Board had okayed the decision to bring him on Board.

The decision received a unanimous approval from the all stakeholders at the Annual General Meeting held this afternoon at the World Trade Centre in Accra.

The AGM which by far lived up to its billing was well attended by most of the shareholders who managed to take time off their busy schedules to make the event a success.

The event saw the approval of the remuneration of the Directors of the Club as well as the authorization of the Directors to negotiate and determine the remuneration of the Auditors.

Mr. Ankrah, the current Executive Director of Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), replaced Neil Armstrong Mortagbe last September, after the latter was relieved of his duties by the Hearts board.

Mr. Ankrah holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and had previously worked as Head of Finance and Administration with the Metropolitan Enterprise Television Limited and is currently a board member of the Graphic Communications Group Limited.

He was the director of the News Times Corporation in May 2011. Ankrah also served as the Project Director for the body that was responsible for the publication of the Code of Conduct for GIBA members for Election 2012.
