Hearts of Oak Executive club launched

The Executive Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has promised members of the clubs’ Executive Group that they will be given special ticket allocations for oversubscribed games such as their meetings with rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Togbe Afede made this known at the inauguration of the Executive Group last Monday night at the Accra International Conference Centre. The Executive Board Chairman said the inauguration was part of Hearts strategy to raise funds and also register all categories of its support base. He said: “We will work closely with the Hearts Executive Group to drive this club forward, their leaders will have interaction with management and they will also have representation on the board of the club. “The Executive Group will receive special incentives including reserve seats for important matches such as Hearts versus Kotoko as well as discounts on Hearts memorabilia”, the majority shareholder of Hearts added. According to the Managing Director of Hearts, Gerald Ankrah, the Executive Group who are the club’s elite group of supporters are comprised of Chiefs, businessmen, politicians, top professionals, civil servants, politicians, traditional rulers and engineers who are expected to augment the club’s decision-making with their expertise. The group has also been tasked with raising funds to support the clubs’ projects such as the renovation of its’ secretariat and players hostel at Pobiman. Members of the group later decided on an amount of GHC 500 as registration fees with a commitment to decide on the amount to be paid as monthly dues at their next meeting. Also present at the ceremony were members of the clubs’ board, National Chapters Committee (NCC) and Hearts Ladies Supporters Group. A total of 200 Executive Group members were registered with some prominent members such as Ghana's Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary Education, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Cecil Sunkwa-Mills the General Manager of Multichoice Ghana Limited and Mustapha Hamid, a lecturer at the Department of Religion and Human Values of the University of Cape Coast and spokesperson of Nana Akuffo Addo.
