Grant refuses to judge Jordan

Ghana coach Avram Grant has refused to pass judgment on Jordan Ayew after Tuesday's third Group C victory over South Africa at the Estadio De Mongomo.

Jordan Ayew, since the commencement of the competition, has come under intense pressure over his performance.

Grant said in an interview after the match that it was too early to judge the player in the competition.

“We have just played three matches in the competition and I cannot use these matches to pass any verdict on him.

“He may end it as one of the best players in the competition if we progress to the finals. I don’t think it is proper to judge him now," Grant stated.

According to Grant, he will make an informed statement on the player only after the competition.

Touching on the game against South Africa, he said his team was improving after each match and was satisfied with the level of performance against South Africa.

“We have a very strong team who are ready to face any opponent and they have exhibited this in all the matches played so far.

“If we continue to play like this, I am certain we will progress very far in the competition.”

Ghana will now have to wait for the outcome of Group D matches on Wednesday, to know her opponents in the quarter-finals of the competition.
