Yammin supports Tennis Club

Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Joseph Yammin, has responded positively to an appeal to help install floodlights at the 4 Garrison Tennis Club in Kumasi.

Hon. Yammin made an unannounced visit at the 4 Garrison Tennis Club during a special tournament on July 1.

The visit by the deputy sports minister was to enable him fraternize with the tennis players.

Executives of the club have always bemoaned the lack of floodlights at the place, making it difficult for games to take place, especially in the evenings. President of the club Samuel Ampadu-Kyei said the development was disrupting their programmes.

He, therefore, took advantage of the minister’s visit to personally appeal to him to come to their aid with regard to the installation of floodlights.

In his response, Hon. Yammin gave the assurance that he would liaise with his boss to see how they could help with the installation of the floodlights at the place.

The deputy minister, a former goalkeeper, was later seen displaying his tennis skills on the court to the admiration of all present.

Meanwhile, tennis players and fans at the club have showered praises on Hon. Yammin for his commitment to work.

According to them, they were extremely surprised to see the minister in their midst without an invitation.
