“Wash and Wear”: Flings Owusu Agyapong denies story

Ghana’s sprinter, Flings Owusu Agyapong, has denied media reports, which suggests that, Ghanaian athletes have been given one kit each, thus compelling them to engage in “wash and wear”.

Wash and wear is the practice where, an athlete had to use one kit over and over again throughout a competition.

Owusu Agyapong, who failed to make progress in the sprints, after gaining qualification to the quarter finals, tweeted “So apparently we only got one kit? Wash and wear. This is news to me! We all got more than enough!.

She apparently displayed the kits in her possession with a picture of the kits to dispute the story to suggest that, they got more than enough.

Ghana is currently participating in the 20th Commonwealth Games, and has so far not been impressive in athletics, with only a medal in the Judo competition.
