Broadcast journalist and host of ‘Eko Sii Sen’, Philip Osei Bonsu, has called on Inspector General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to reprimand officers captured in video jubilating over his appointment.

According to him, the open display of support for the new IGP is highly unprofessional and must be condemned unreservedly.

“As part of the ethics of the police service, officers are not permitted to openly declare their political affiliation. Your loyalty as an officer is to the state, not to any party or leader.

“What even got me startled was the officer seen openly spraying cash in the video. It all smacks of indiscipline in the police force, which must be tackled with all seriousness and urgently,” he said during a discussion on ‘Eko Sii Sen’ on Asempa FM on March 17, 2025.

He subsequently called on IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno to immediately launch an investigation into the video to fish out all the officers who are found culpable in the act.

“Yohuno must activate internal processes to reprimand jubilating officers because it is not proper. All officers captured in the video must face sanctions,” he said.
