A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Adentan Constituency, Kojo Adu Asare, has cautioned the youth who have received appointments under President John Mahama’s administration to be vigilant and not to be carried away by power.

He urged them to remain resolute and ensure the president's vision of ensuring transparency, accountability and integrity within the public service is realised to enhance trust among the populace.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, on Wednesday April 2, 2025, Adu Asare explained that although the will be entrapments, they should look up to the bigger picture rather than the short term benefits, in the interest of the nation.

He made this point on the program as they discussed the subject of instilling integrity and patriotism among public service workers and the general populace as a whole.

The former MP added that the leadership skills of these youthful appointees will influence decisions in the years to come, therefore, they must prove that the young are capable of the roles assigned them.

He added that this is important not only for themselves, but for other young women and men out there who wish to rise to attain such feats in future.

"You can always benefit from where you are working without soiling your hand with bad deed. Integrity is a must," he advised.

The former MP further advised the youth to choose the slow pace for clean money and wealth rather than early money that will only bring them a bad reputation that can go a long way to affect their lives in future.

"We need to speak to the youth on how to excel but they should slow down and understand life is not a one day event but a marathon which takes time. The rich man you look up to started long time and not now," he added.
