Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has outlined some challenges that came with her dedication to serving Mahama.

In an interview on GH One TV on January 10, 2025, Bawah Mogtari revealed that there were several instances when she considered resigning from her position as the President’s aide and spokesperson.

She acknowledged the challenges of any working environment, stating that she ultimately chose to remain in her role and rescinded her decision to resign due to her strong belief in working for President Mahama.

“I have never asked President Mahama for anything. It’s been a privilege and honour to serve a man of such enormous glory of God. I probably would have missed my blessings many times over. Every work environment has a lot of difficulties, many aspects that most people never get to see.

“I’ve probably had many occasions when I almost left the job because I am one person who has many options, where I could have managed my mom’s school. I stayed on because I believed in the project John Dramani Mahama,” she said.

The legal professional further emphasised that her dedication and commitment to working for President Mahama is not driven by personal gain but by her strong conviction in his vision.

“I can analyse all sorts of things for John Mahama and never ask for anything for myself and I hope that I remain that way and stay true to myself.”

When asked by the host if she was lobbying for a ministerial position in Mahama's cabinet, Bawah Mogtari responded that she had not considered lobbying for a role. She touted her qualifications, noting that they position her well to excel in any capacity.

“I have not thought about it because you see, fortunately, I believe that looking at my qualifications, I am someone who can serve in many capacities and so, I leave it all to the glory of God and what his steps are for me for the next few months,” she noted.
