President John Dramani Mahama has made significant appointments to three key security agencies in the country.
In an effort to strengthen Ghana’s security apparatus, new chiefs have been appointed to oversee the administration of the Ghana Prisons Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, and the Ghana National Fire Service.
Deputy Director-General of Prisons, Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, has been promoted to the rank of Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service following her appointment.
Additionally, DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong has been appointed as the Chief Fire Officer, while DCI Samuel Basintale Amadu has been named the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.
All three officials have been promoted and are expected to bring their expertise to transform their respective agencies.
The appointments were announced in a communiqué from the presidency on March 14, 2025.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, stated, “President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the following Security Service Chiefs: Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service – DDGP Patience Baffoe-Bonnie; Chief Fire Officer – DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong; and Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service – DCI Samuel Basintale Amadu.”
