Two men believed to be in their 30s went on a rampage at the Parliament of Ghana, destroying vehicles belonging to Members of Parliament and staff of the Parliamentary Service on Wednesday, December 19, 2024.
A video of the incident shared by Accra-based Citi FM showed the moment one of the men, who was using an axe to damage the cars, was apprehended.
The man, who believes he was ‘sent by God’, could be seen begging for forgiveness from the security officials who were arresting him.
As the security men pinned him to the ground, subjecting him to some slaps and kicks, the man was busy praying for them.
“Father, father, father, Elohim, Daddy have mercy on them, they don’t know what they are doing. Father have mercy on them. Father have mercy on them.
“Elohim, they don’t know what they are doing, Daddy have mercy on them… it is for your own good, it is for your own good, it is for your own good,” the man is heard exclaiming.
He continued his prayers, even moving to tongues as the security officers dragged him up and were pushing him around.
