The running mate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, has expressed his readiness to step up as the new flagbearer of the party following the passing of Akua Donkor, the party's presidential candidate.
In an interview on Angel FM on October 29, 2024, Roman Fada said he is willingness to assume the role of flagbearer if required by law.
"If the law says I should be the flagbearer, why not... I am ready to take up the mantle," he stated.
He also expressed hope for support from his colleagues in the entertainment industry.
“Since I am an entertainment person, I hope I will get support from my colleagues in the entertainment field,” he said.
Roman Fada recounted the events leading to Akua Donkor's death.
"She fell ill on Saturday, October 26, 2024, and was treated at Nsawam Government Hospital before being discharged.
However, her condition worsened, and she was rushed to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (formerly Ridge Hospital) on Sunday, October 27.
Sadly, she passed away at 10:00pm on Monday, October 28.
The Ghana Freedom Party plans to release an official statement regarding her death and the party's future steps.
