Disqualified flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has revealed how his loyal supporters reacted to news of his disqualification from the 2024 presidential elections.

He disclosed on Accra-based Peace FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com that market women were agitated and a commercial bus driver nearly crashed upon hearing the announcement from the Electoral Commission(EC) that he would not be in the race.

“The market women who are hopeful my policies will transform their lives are agitated and it would shock you to hear that a bus driver who is also a loyal supporter nearly crashed when he also heard the news,” he said.

Though Mornah will neither mention which location the market women are angry nor the name of the driver who felt disappointed and nearly ran a commercial bus into the ditch, he accused the EC Chairperson Jean Mensa of deliberately disqualifying him and not giving him a fair hearing.

“Other candidates were called to come and make some corrections on their nomination forms and I was also called. We rectified those errors and sent the forms back to the EC but I am shocked Jean Mensa I have worked with since 2003 could do this to me. You realized that when she was giving reasons for the disqualification of others when it got to my turn she appeared to be fumbling and could not even mention my name. Someone I have worked with for that long no longer knows my name?” he wondered.

It would be recalled that Bernard Mornah’s name was missing from the final list of presidential candidates who filed their nomination with the Electoral Commission.

The Commission, in a statement, indicated that 13 persons have qualified to contest for the 2024 presidential elections after thoroughly scrutinizing their nomination forms.

“Following the successful conduct of the filing of nominations from September 9 to 13, 2024, the Commission instituted a thorough examination of the nomination forms submitted by the candidates to ensure conformity with requirements as set out in law.

Despite being disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday, September 20, 2024, Bernard Mornah insists he will be the next President of Ghana.

He hinted that the reasons for which he has been disqualified will be resolved and he is certain to be on the ballot for the 2024 polls and subsequently become the next President of Ghana.

According to him, the reasons for his disqualification are vague, suspecting it is a deliberate ploy by some faceless persons to get him off the polls.

“I will be the next President of Ghana where everyone will be born rich. My policies and programmes will ensure that every Ghanaian is born with wealth from our natural resources like Cocoa, gold, and more. My presidency will ensure that Ghanaian languages are used in teaching children in our schools”, he disclosed.
