The Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has accused the John Dramani Mahama-led government of being focused on persecuting officials of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.

Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, he stated that the government should focus on implementing policies to address the country's economic challenges.

“They came into government with no clear plans to create jobs. They came into office with no clear plans for the fisherfolk of our country. They came into government with no clear plans for the farmers of our country. They only came to persecute, arrest political opponents, and deny them their basic fundamental human rights.

“It is clear that this government came into being to kill private sector initiatives. That is why they are unable to tell us about a single initiative for the private sector. What is the work of the trade minister? They say they have an advisor for the 24-hour economy. What is his role?” he noted.
