New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over an advertisement on their main policy proposal for the pending 2024 general election, the 24-Hour Economy policy.
The said advertisement was on banks operating for 24 hours such that customers can even cash their cheques at 2:00 am.
Gabby, who could not believe the suggestion that banks could transact business at 2:00 am, said he initially thought the advertisement was fake.
He wondered why banks would be open at 2:00 am in the 4th Industrial Revolution.
“I saw this ad on air of a party promising to have commercial banks opening 24hrs to allow people to go to the bank at 2am to transact business.
“I was assuming it was fake. But, apparently, it is not! This is the 4th Industrial Revolution, for crying out loud! Please ask bankers,” Gabby wrote.
The advertisement featured renowned Ghanaian comedian DKB, who told his partner, who was pestering him for cash, that it would be possible to cash a cheque at 2:00 am under a 24-hour economy.
DKB, after taking his rest, woke in the middle of the night to go and cash the cheque to the joy of his wife.
