A presidential staffer, Nana Yaa Jantuah, has dismissed claims by Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Assin South, suggesting that the AirMed flight that landed at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in March could be linked to drug trafficking and money laundering.

According to her, the accounts provided by the NPP legislator and the Majority do not add up.

She particularly questioned the logic behind the allegation, asking how a supposed drug-laden aircraft could remain at the airport for five days.

“Who would leave a plane with cocaine on it for five days? It doesn’t make sense,” she said during an interview on Adom FM on April 11, 2025.

Nana Yaa also criticised those describing the attempted arrest of the Assin South MP by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) as an act of intimidation.

“No one is intimidating anybody. He needs to stand firm and go through whatever comes his way. If he hasn’t done anything wrong, the truth will eventually come out,” she stated.

The former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) condemned Ntim Fordjour’s approach, describing his handling of the matter as inappropriate.

“Don’t use the media to damage your country’s image. If you have concerns, you should have trusted the Speaker and communicated the matter to him, especially when it involves national security,” she said.

She further questioned the basis of Ntim Fordjour’s claims, asking whether he had any evidence to support his allegations.

She emphasised that his actions could have serious implications for the country and its citizens.

“Now, even if you travel, you’ll be searched like you’ve done something wrong because he has tarnished the country’s image,” she lamented.

It will be recalled that on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, operatives of the NIB attempted to arrest Ntim Fordjour at his Spintex residence in Accra.

This followed his claims about two suspicious flights that landed at KIA, which he suggested were connected to possible drug trafficking and money laundering.
