1,800 MASLOC Cars: I don’t have the answers – Safo

Deputy Minister of Procurement, Sarah Adwoa Safo Deputy Minister of Procurement, Sarah Adwoa Safo

The Deputy Minister of Procurement, Sarah Adwoa Safo on Wednesday, 14 March 2018, appeared in parliament to answer questions concerning the procurement method adopted by Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) in awarding a contract worth GHS28.8 million to Dextro Impex to supply 1,800 vehicles.

Ms Safo, in an answer to the question posed by Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey, stated that her office does not have the locus to answer such questions.

She explained that her office advises the president on procurement policies and strategies and if the MP for Ashaiman wanted answers to the questions he had raised, he would have to contact the Finance Ministry because the Finance Ministry deals with procurement issues within the procurement ministry.

She, however, failed to comment on whether or not she advised the president on the purchase on the vehicles for MASLOC.
