19 KNUST Students Dismissed

Authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi have dismissed 19 first year students including three females for forging their examination results to gain admission into the institution.

A statement signed by the Deputy Registrar for Academic and Students Affairs, Nana Bamfi-Adomako and copied to the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Students, the SRC and the press named the affected students as Francis Gyasi, Civil Engineering; Muntari Mohammed Ayuba, Pharmacy; Kwasi Sarfo Adu Ansere, Natural Resource Management; Felix Nene Kpabitey, Agriculture; Davis Emmanuel, Mathematics and Michelle Abbey-Slart, Social Science.

The others are Emmanuel Adjiraku, Agriculture; David Awudi, Industrial Art; Doe Soedjede, Industrial Art; Charles Kofi Donkor, Building Technology; Wahiaratu Imoro Seidu, Biochemistry and Alex Sefa Ofosu-Barko, Publishing Studies.

The rest are Tuffuor Rawlings-Goodwill, Social Science; Prince Owusu Agyeman, Physics; Clement Kwame Owusu, Fine Art; Logah Kwaku Issah, Industrial Art; Richmond Boateng Ansong, Natural Resource Management and Sulley Mohammed, Social Science.

The statement said notwithstanding the action by the University authorities, the police can initiate legal action against the culprits.
