A Ho Circuit Court presided over by has remanded a Nelson Makafui Fiakpi, a 19-year-old trader in Police custody for allegedly robbing a motor rider, Mawuli Ayivi, 23 using a knife as the robbery weapon.
Prosecuting, Inspector Stephen Atidzon told the Court presided over by Madam Priscilla Dikro, that on January 24, at around 2315 hours, the accused met the complainant at Hokpodzi and asked him to take the accused to a place around the Ho Technical University on his motorbike with registration number M-17-GW 973.
He said when they reached an isolated spot around ‘JIMFUGAH’ hostel near the Ho Technical University, the accused offered to alight and pretended to be reaching for his money to pay off the complainant.
The prosecution said the accused was later joined by two other accomplices who were wielding a knife and gun.
He said the accused and the two others began to struggle with the complainant over the motorbike amidst threats that they would kill him if he doesn’t hand it over.
The prosecution said the complainant shouted for help which attracted some private security personnel who heard him and raised an alarm which attracted people nearby, prompting the accused and his accomplices to run away.
They made away with a “Tecno” mobile phone worth GHC 70.00 and a cash of GHC 50.00.
The accused was later identified and arrested by the Police and later charged.
