Typically, we hear stories every day of dogs biting humans but in a dramatic turn of events that took place in 1966 in Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, a man bit a dog, leading to the animal’s death.
The bizarre incident that was reported in the Daily Graphic with the headline "Man bites dog to death" was shared recently by veteran broadcaster and historian Amankwah Ampofo on his TikTok page.
According to the report, history was created in Bekwai in the Ashanti Region on October 16, 1966, when a man walked into a house, got hold of a dog, hit his head on the ground and bit it, leading to the dog’s death.
Narrating the incident, Amankwa Ampofo said the alcohol distorted the man’s thoughts, making him see the dog as a threat.
“The owner of the dog reported the case to the police. Upon investigation, the man was held accountable for the dog’s death and he was made to pay for the cost of the dog. Police investigations also revealed that the alcohol-impaired the judgement of the man, leading to the unfortunate situation,” he noted.
