1D1F, one-village, one-dam impossible to do – Ken Dzirasah

Former second deputy Speaker of Parliament Ken Dzirasah has said the ruling New Patriotic Party is incapable of delivering on the One district, one factory, and the One village, one dam promises they made to Ghanaians.

According to him, such promises were meant for the campaign but practically impossible to achieve.

“The truth is that they cannot do those things. No, they can’t do them. Those high promises are for the campaign and we must know that such propaganda must stop when you get into government.

“In some places if you build the dam they are talking about, you can’t even get a place to farm. They themselves know those promises cannot be done. From where I come from, even the regional executives of the NPP can’t tell you what factory can be built in that district,” the veteran former lawmaker told Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday.

So far, one factory has been commissioned under the one district, one factory project in the Ashanti region while the dams are yet to be constructed as promised.

Mr. Dzirasah however commended the government for the implementation of the Free Senior High School Project.

“I will commend them for the boldness to take on such a project. The free SHS is a good program and so I will say that is great”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Dzirasah has called on former President John Mahama who is seeking to lead the NDC again for the 2020 elections to call his young followers to order.

“The point is that these young political youth that surround president Mahama, some of them have intemperate language.

“…We are building a party and when we are building a party we should be placed in a strategic positions that we are not found wanting and disrespect to elders of the party is a non-starter”.
