20 Zambian Women to Leave for Ghana

TWENTY Zambian women from culture oriented non-governmental organisations are scheduled to leave for Ghana on a study tour this month.

According to the itinerary released in Lusaka yesterday, the group will be in Ghana from April 20 to May 1, 2004.

The organisations represented on the group include the Women in Visual Arts Association, the Lusaka National Museum, Choma Museum, Zambia Federation of Business Women and the Mongu Craft Centre.

The study tour will be hosted by Aid to Artisans Ghana (ATAG) which is Ghana's National Craft Association.

Apart from getting first hand experience from different production facilities in Ghana, the women will also get a comprehensive insight into the vast experience gained over years by various craft producers.

The study will also be a move towards promoting more Pan-African peer group exchanges and learning.

The tour will be funded by the European Union (EU) through the Culture Sector Support Programme (CSSP).
