A stalwart of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Victor Smith says the party will not allow the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to dictate to it as to how it should run its programme for the upcoming December 7, 2020 general elections.
The NPP has selected Peter Mac Manu to lead its campaign as Campaign Manager for the election.
According to the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, a winning team is never changed so the NPP has decided to fall on Mac Manu who handed them victory in 2016 to lead their team which according to him, is very solid.
John Boadu said the political party should have launched the campaign team on May 2 but that was not possible considering the regulations on COVID-19.
He said the campaign team has already started working and they have an absolute idea of their campaign team as compared to the opposition NDC that does not have an idea of individuals who will make up their campaign team for elections 2020.
The party Scribe expressed shock at the fact that the NDC did not have a fair idea of the individuals who will make up their campaign team neither does the political party have an idea of who their running mate will be.
But commenting on the matter on Ekosiisen show monitored by Kasapafmonline.com, Mr. Smith who was the former Eastern Regional Minister under ex-President Mahama stated that the NDC is working according to its own plan and will certainly constitute a formidable team to wrestle power from the NPP in December 7.
"NDC is also working on our campaign team, nobody will set the rules for us and we will not be stampeded by the NPP to do as they wish. We will do it in our own time and I’m sure it will be very soon. We would have done it by April but for COVID and lockdown, everything stalled. But I’m sure that teams are working in that direction.”
