Parliamentary candidates who lost in the just ended Parliamentary primaries of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been cautioned not to go independent or mastermind “skirt and Blouse” voting.

According to the Eastern Regional Organizer of the party, Hackman Kabore, such individuals will be expelled from the party if found culpable.

“We are not going to tolerate any bad loser who will go independent or engineer Skirt and Blouse voting system. As a party we will go according to the constitution of the NDC to deal with such persons. We will not hesitate to sack them. 2020 is a serious business. John Mahama must win to return to power so we are not going to tolerate the 2016 nonsense which cost us.”

In an interview with Starr News, he added that after supervising the Party’s primaries in Afram Plains South that the “NDC is bigger than anyone so we will not allow any individual to use his selfish interest to affect the larger interest of the party.”

The opposition NDC went to polls on Saturday August 24, 2019 to elect candidates for the 2020 Parliamentary election.

The NDC is hopeful of recapturing power in the 2020 general election with its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama defeated.

The NDC has blamed its electoral misfortunes in 2016 on voter apathy claiming that about one million of its supporters refused to vote due to multiple factors including internal wrangling whereas political analysts blame the downfall of then NDC government to – economic hardship, lack of reliable electricity, corruption and rising unemployment amidst sweet and refreshing promises by the current ruling Political party -New Patriotic Party.
