The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to counter attempts at unlawful actions by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to enable them to win during the upcoming general elections.

This stems from the Member of Parliament for Abetifi and Minister of Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong's, statement that the NPP would do everything necessary to win the December election, citinewsroom.com reports.

Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy General Secretary for the NDC, mentioned in an interview that the NDC will discover and confront individuals or groups threatening the democracy of the country.

“We will not burn the sea, and I can assure Bryan Acheampong that the nonsense that they [his government] showed Ghanaians in 2020—a repetition of the same will make people like himself victims of their schemes. Ghana will not die. Ghana will stay strong. Ghana will stay united," he stated.

“But we will fish out hoodlums and hot-headed people like Bryan Acheampong who are a danger and a threat to our democracy. I can give him that assurance that an inch of an attempt to do what is unlawful will be fiercely resisted, and the persons who will be engaged will be singled out and dealt with.

“It doesn’t matter what it takes for us to do that. That will be done,” Citinewsroom.com quoted him to have said.
