A former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, has asserted that his party has its work cut out for it in the 2024 presidential election because of the choice of flagbearer and running mate being fielded by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the Flagbearer of the NPP, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has proven to be untruthful, and the running mate, Minister for Energy Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), has also shown Ghanaians his negative qualities.

Boateng Gyan added that all the NDC would have to do is playback audio and visuals of NAPO for Ghanaians to make their own judgment.

"The two of them have issues. Bawumia is not truthful; you have to think twice about anything he says. And as for Matthew Opoku Prempeh, we know him already. We are going to use statements he has made to campaign.

"As for me, I have stated that we should use statements made by Bawumia and Matthew Opoku Prempeh before Ghanaians and tell them that these are the two people Akufo-Addo, after all the mess he has caused, wants to leave Ghana in the hands of," he said in Twi in an interview on Kassapa FM on June 28, 2024.

The former NDC national organizer urged Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be deceived into voting for the NPP.

"Ghana is a country Kwame Nkrumah won independence for; we are special people, and when choosing our leaders, we should go on our knees and ask God for direction. We should stop listening to people with words that sweeten our ears.'
